Not having siblings makes having cousins that much more special. At least to me. They're the closest things I have to a brother or sister. I can see resemblances of our parents and grandparents and how certain characteristics dominate in one of us versus the other. I haven't been back to Michigan since we took mom's ashes to the farm in 2015.
What a Party!
THANK YOU to all who came out to celebrate with us at our Open House! We are so grateful to have such great clients and colleagues, we would not still be here with out you all. It was wonderful to see so many clients I haven't seen in years, and new faces too.
If you missed it, we have launched our latest venture, "Lenehan Studios Home- Artistically Curated Fabrics and Wallcoverings." Our inaugural line of ten designs is available now in our shop! If you are not signed up yet for our newsletter, be sure to do so. We offered an exclusive 10% off everything for our subscribers. We may get the urge to do it again so don't miss out.
We had handmade jewelry for sale, art large and small, and I got to use my square credit card reader for the first time! Yes, I'm a dork but I felt like a legit business owner, lol! Check out the lovely Kris, Ann Marie, and Trish modeling their new pieces!
Congratulations to the winners of our raffle, Sue Cramer, Debbie Furlong, and Deb Watson! Sue won a color consultation for one room ($300 value,) Debbie won a print of her choice from our portfolio ($100 value,) and Deb won the hand painted glass bowl.
I am just over the moon with gratitude to everyone who made this a success. A special thanks to my boyfriend and to my dad who helped get my house in order. I wasn't exactly easy to be around cause of my stressing! Also, if you need an incredible cleaning person, please call my girl Liz!! She owns "Felix with out Oscar" and I hired her to do a deep cleaning and I'm still on cloud nine. Give her a call if you are tired of trying to keep up with your mess. And if you attended, you may have met my lovely new assistant, Bronwyn. I am training her up to be a mini-me. Stay tuned to meet her in a future post!
Thanks for reading!

On the Water
I am so excited to share this project with you! Recently Christie Leu of Christie Leu Interiors called me up because she had a realization that I would be the one to solve a design dilema for her and her client.
Originally she had specified a wallpaper for a feature wall in the foyer of her client's bay front property in Ocean City, MD. But because the wall was so tall (19' to be exact) the cost to have it custom made was way over budget. Then it dawned on her that I could create a finish inspired by the wallpaper, and stay within the budget! A win-win!
Christie sent me the sample and I went to work creating a painted version of it. I wanted to keep the grasscloth texture like the original so I decided to go with a plaster ground. Once dry, I layered glazes, wiping back and adding more, until the desired effect was achieved.
I think the final product is a showstopper and really compliments the stunning design work in the home. The house was remodeled from top to bottom and Christie really did a beautiful job. I hope the clients have many happy years there.

Lenehan Studios goes to NYC
Well, my art did. Not necessarily me. My wonderful friend and extremely talented designer, Barbara Brown of Barbara Brown Interiors was invited to design a table for the prestigious Lenox Hill Gala in Manhattan this past April.
The theme was "Make a Splash" and boy did she. She asked me to hand paint a 126" diameter table cloth in bold florals and gemstones and 9 fantastical animals to parade around the table.
Summerhill Cabinets created the cut out menagerie from my sketches.
A shot for scale:
Of course Miss Rosabella could not be left behind so she received a prime seat upon one of the five elephants.
Lenox Hill Neighborhood House began as a Settlement House in 1894. Community workers lived in Settlement Houses established in poor, crowded urban neighborhoods and worked with local residents to provide educational and recreational services including English language and job training, arts programing, health care, youth programs and much more. Today, Lenox Hill provides a multitude services to all ages. Click Here to learn more.
So grateful for the opportunity!
